After obtaining her Massage Therapy certification in 2004, Vanessa was left with a desire to learn more holistic therapies. She had always had an interest in nutrition but it was in an Eastern Nutrition class taken for fun that she really opened up to understanding the healing properties of food and plants. It also intrigued her to learn more about Traditional Chinese Medicine. The idea that everything is connected, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually resonated with her. This led Vanessa to receive her Associates Degree in Holistic Health, a certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner, with specializations in Tui Na and Asian Healing Arts, and a certification in Holistic Nutritional Health Coaching, earning her membership to The American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
Currently, Vanessa practices Massage Therapy in both the clinical and spa settings. In recent years she has found a new passion as an instructor, she feels that this isn’t work because “when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life!” Vanessa is always looking to further her education, whether that be learning ways to grow in her massage practice or improving her overall health and wellness.
