COVID-19 Updates for ICOHS College Community

UPDATED FEBRUARY 2023

ICOHS College COVID Protocol

At ICOHS College we value finding ways to protect and respect one another. When navigating uncertain times this requires patience, understanding, and good communication. As mandated by the CDC, below are our updated guidelines regarding COVID-19. We believe these are necessary to foster a healthy environment and we thank you in advance for your compassion and compliance.

A. Persons With a Positive Test Result

With recent updates from the Department of Health, there are two options for a return to school following isolation and a Positive COVID test:

Option 1 – Willing to Test: Isolate for 5 days, ending isolation on Day 6 with a negative test on Day 6:

  • You will receive a Teams link to do classes online. Failure to attend online classes will result in an absence.
  • Students will need to have a negative test, and provide those results with an image of the test sent to covidresults@icohs.edu in order to return to class.
  • Symptoms should be improved and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  • Please note that following a Positive COVID test, the CDPH is recommending a Rapid Antigen test on Day 6.
  • On Days 6 through 10, you must wear a mask that fits snugly over your mouth and nose while indoors and outside when within 6 feet of others.

Option 2 – Unwilling to Test: Isolate for 10 days, ending isolation and return on Day 11:

  • You will receive a Teams link to do classes online. Failure to attend online classes will result in an absence.
  • The last day of isolation is Day 11. You will be required to return to class that day.
  • Symptoms should be improved and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  • A negative COVID test is not required to end isolation on Day 11.
  • Please note that with these new COVID-19 variants, we are seeing many individuals testing positive into/beyond their 11th day.
  • Please note that it is recommended if you suffered a high fever (over 100 degrees) for greater than four days, or were hospitalized due to COVID-19, that you confer with your medical professional.

B. Persons Exposed To COVID

If you are exposed to COVID, the following situations and actions may apply to you:

1. No Symptoms

ACTION: You have the option to go to class and take precautionary measures for yourself and others. Failure to attend classes in person or online will result in an absence.

2. Some Symptoms
