The Macy’s Emergency Scholarship Fund, a collaboration between Macy’s and the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC), is dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance to students facing unforeseen economic hardships that could impede their educational progress.
This non-renewable scholarship offers up to $500 to eligible full-time undergraduate or graduate students residing in California, Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, or Texas. Qualifying emergencies include changes in family income or support, job loss, death of an immediate family member, natural disasters, pending eviction or home foreclosure, burglary, or fire. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and cannot be current recipients of other LNESC scholarships. The application requires submission of a college transcript, an essay detailing the immediate financial need, and a budget with supporting documentation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all funds are awarded.
The Macy’s Emergency Scholarship Fund has significantly impacted students’ lives, awarding over $108,000 to more than 215 students since 2015.
