ICOHS College proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, offering supplemental financial assistance to eligible veterans and their families.

How do I apply for Yellow Ribbon Assistance?

If you are eligible for 100% Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits, you may qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program — a supplemental benefit that helps cover tuition and fees beyond the GI Bill® annual cap.This program provides additional funding without reducing your GI Bill® entitlement. It’s designed for veterans and eligible dependents who want to maximize their educational benefits at ICOHS College.

Application Steps

You must first apply for and receive a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. You can apply online at VA.gov.

Bring or send your COE to the ICOHS College School Certifying Official (SCO) or the financial aid office. Let them know you wish to apply for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

ICOHS College will determine:

If we have available Yellow Ribbon slots (there is a cap on the number of students per year),

How much additional funding you will receive.

You will receive notification from ICOHS College about whether you’ve been accepted into the Yellow Ribbon Program and how much funding will be applied to your tuition and fees.

What Is the Yellow Ribbon Program?

The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill® that helps cover tuition and fee costs that exceed the standard GI Bill® limits. If you qualify, ICOHS College will contribute a designated amount toward your additional tuition costs, and the VA will match that contribution.

Who is eligible?

You may qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program if You are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® at the 100% benefit level, and at least one of the following applies:

  • You served at least 36 months on active duty and were honorably discharged,
  • You received a Purple Heart on or after September 11, 2001, and were honorably discharged,
  • You served at least 30 continuous days on or after September 11, 2001, and were discharged due to a service-connected disability,
  • You are a dependent using transferred benefits from a qualified service member,
  • You are a Fry Scholar.

What are the benefits?

If you qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program, you can receive additional financial support for tuition and mandatory fees beyond the GI Bill® cap. ICOHS College and the VA will split the remaining tuition costs not covered by the GI Bill®, meaning you may have little or no out-of-pocket tuition expenses, depending on your program.

Program Highlights

VRRAP - Veterans Rapid Retraining Assistance Program
