Scholarship Overview

The Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation is committed to closing the skills gap by promoting the value of skilled labor and supporting individuals pursuing careers in the trades. Through the Work Ethic Scholarship Program, the foundation provides financial assistance to students who demonstrate strong work ethic, personal responsibility, and a positive attitude.

For the eleventh consecutive year, the foundation is offering a total of $2,500,000 in scholarships to individuals enrolled in approved programs for skilled trades, including cybersecurity. Applicants must fulfill several requirements, such as signing the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge (Skills and Work Ethic Aren’t Taboo), answering questions related to the pledge, creating a video submission, providing two references from a teacher or employer, verifying school costs, and submitting academic transcripts and tax information. The application deadline is April 17, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT.

Since its inception, the Work Ethic Scholarship Program has granted over $11 million in scholarships, supporting more than 1,800 recipients across 48 states in various skilled trades.
