Want Financial Aid?
The FAFSA®, which becomes available every year on October 1, is the form used by the United States Department of Education to determine who is eligible for federal financial aid to help pay for college.
You must submit a FAFSA® for every year you plan to be in school.
⚠️ Attention Veterans or Active Duty Military: Please visit our VA Financial Assistance Resource page.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is a must to apply for federal student aid, including: loans, work-study payments, and federal grants.
Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Eligibility for financial aid is established through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Continued eligibility for financial assistance is based on financial needs and satisfactory academic progress.
Once we have evaluated the Expected Family Contribution (EFC), ICOHS College offers a financial aid package that may include grants and federal student loans. You can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to automatically pull the necessary data from your tax return when applying for FAFSA® online.
Schools use the FAFSA® to put together financial aid packages, and some states use it to screen applicants for state aid. Most states and schools even use the FAFSA® information to award non-federal aid.
Many states and colleges have priority deadlines for submitting the FAFSA® form to be considered for the aid programs they administer. States and individual schools frequently have different FAFSA® deadlines than the federal government. There is a federal deadline each academic year.
NOTE: Families may skip filling out the application because they believe they will not qualify for assistance, or they may abandon it because the process is confusing. By ignoring the form, you could lose out on real money that could help you pay for college.
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the first step in applying for financial aid.
You must first create an account with a Federal Student Aid ID, which requires a student’s Social Security number or alien registration number before you can begin the FAFSA® application process.
Our Financial Aid Counselor is here to guide you through the process of the financial aid that may be available to you.
You will be walked through all steps to fill out the FAFSA® and complete your financial aid paperwork during your appointment. You will also receive an Estimated Financial Aid Award Letter. If you accept the aid, and it includes student loans, and as a first-time borrower, you must complete the online entrance counseling here.
Call us or Email us prior to your appointment to find out what documents you may need to bring to your financial aid appointment for college or graduate school.
We will communicate with you via email or phone during this time. Please allow 2-3 weeks to review all paperwork.
