As part of our holistic studies, the Holistic Health Practitioner Program provides a higher level of education and trains your body and mind to work as a licensed practitioner in the state of California. After you complete our Professional Massage Therapy program, you will receive four additional classes in advanced topics and modalities to help you become a highly skilled holistic health practitioner.
Our students complete high-level advanced holistic applications that can be applied to the massage and bodywork skills you gain in the program. We provide various tools for you to succeed as a member of an integrative healthcare team and prepare you for your desired specialty or focus.

All courses are 90 clock hours, and our Holistic Health Program is a total of 1000 hours. After completion of our 630-hour Professional Massage Therapy program that exceeds the 500 minimum hours required to apply for a professional license from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMCT), you will complete an additional 370 hours.
The Holistic Health Practitioner courses include all the Professional Massage Therapist courses and an additional study in the areas of:
Understanding Massage from Past to Present, Intro. to Swedish Massage, Massage Indications and Contraindications, Biomechanics for Career Longevity, Foundations of Ethics, Boundaries and Professionalism, Foundations of Anatomy, Introduction to Client Assessments and Documentation.
Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine Theories, Tui Na Therapy Treatments, Acupressure and Meridians, Origins and Philosophies of Thai Massage, Thai Bodywork, and Eastern Approaches to Client Assessments.
Demonstrate competency for the variations of techniques covered that include Sports Massage, Reflexology, Deep Tissue Applications, Therapeutic Massage Cupping, Integration of Movement Theories and Stretching Techniques, Advance Client Assessments and Documentation.
Physiology, Pathology, Medical Terminology, and Special Populations to understand the Physiologic and Pathologic processes as they apply through Therapeutic Massage.
Use a multitude of hand-on palpation applications to identify 83 most common muscular anatomy. Identify 206 bones of the human body and most major bony landmarks, Intimate knowledge of skeletal muscle origins and insertions including an introduction to actions, fiber directions, antagonistic and synergistic contractions.
Comprehend structure and physiology of connective tissue including the various forms and functions, further advancement of muscular skeletal anatomy and its myofascial units, and the biomechanics of movement patterns with postural and gait assessments and evaluations.

ICOHS College supports all graduates throughout the process of obtaining licensure, reimburses the $200 application fee, and equips them with the necessary skill to excel as massage therapists and Holistic Health Practitioners.
