Along with the Certificate of Completion students receive from ICOHS College, graduates are qualified to apply for a License from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC), which legally allows you to practice massage in California.
ICOHS College supports all graduates throughout the process of obtaining licensure, reimburses the $200 application fee, and equips them with the necessary skill to excel in the massage profession.
Skills you’ll learn during our HHP certificate program include:
We also cover essential and business planning, ethics of massage and state requirements/regulations, touch sensitivity, and techniques to keep therapists healthy both in body and mind.
Each massage student receives a massage table and a laptop to support their studies and future careers! The laptop is for the student to keep and use for online assignments, tests, and projects.
Students can choose from 5 different colors of massage tables, and all tables are portable and come with a bolster, headrest, and carry case.
One of ICOHS College’s cornerstones is Students Come First, and one of the ways we can do so is through our instructor-to-student ratio and intensive hands-on training. In addition, we maintain a class size where instructors can focus on the needs of each student.
As a result, students get hours of hands-on training with direct feedback from their instructors, giving them the confidence to succeed in their careers.
Holistic health practitioners rely on a “whole person approach” to assess their patients’ mental, emotional, and spiritual health in addition to their physical wellbeing as well. Instead of simply treating symptoms, holistic medicine looks into all underlying factors contributing to the condition.
A certificate in holistic health will prepare you for a wide variety of careers. Some of the most popular holistic health practices include acupuncture, tai chi, clinical nutrition, aromatherapy, hypnosis, massage therapy, nutrition, herbalism, and more. These disciplines can be used to maintain overall health, achieve weight loss, and secure psychological wellness.
You do not currently need a massage license in San Diego. However, massage businesses are considered police-regulated businesses within the city. These establishments must only employ individuals with a certification from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) to avoid pursuing a police permit. Currently, the SDPD issues very few permits for massage establishments.
Holistic Health Practitioner is the next step up from a Professional Massage Therapist. Students interested in the HHP program can continue their education after successfully completing the PMT program or start directly in the HHP program.
