Faith Statement

ICOHS College (In Christ One Has Salvation) is a Christ-centered, non-denominational Christian institution of higher education that affirms and operates within the historic evangelical Protestant tradition. The College is founded upon and governed by the authority of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, which we affirm to be the uniquely inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, and the final authority for faith, doctrine, life, and learning.

ICOHS College affirms that faith and learning are inseparable pursuits and that all education is ultimately accountable to God. The College understands education as a calling and stewardship, pursued within a biblical worldview that shapes character, ethical reasoning, vocation, and purpose. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith and foundational to the spiritual and moral life of the institution.

ICOHS College affirms the following core doctrinal beliefs:

The Holy Scriptures. The Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct.
The Triune God (The Trinity). ICOHS College affirms belief in one true and living God, who eternally exists as three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons are one in essence, equal in power and glory, and fully God, yet personally distinct. This triune nature of God is foundational to the Christian faith and to the College’s theological identity.
God the Father. God the Father is sovereign, eternal, and unchangeable, worthy of all honor, obedience, and worship.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary and redemptive death on the cross for the sins of humanity, was bodily resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will personally and bodily return.
The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and sanctifies all believers, empowering them for godly living and service. Spiritual gifts are given to believers according to God’s purpose and grace.
Salvation. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received solely through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning work, not by human effort or merit.
Christian Living. Believers are called to live lives of holiness, integrity, humility, compassion, stewardship, service, and love, reflecting the character of Christ in all areas of life.
Humanity and Creation. All people are created by God in His image and possess inherent dignity and worth. Humanity’s fall into sin has resulted in separation from God, requiring redemption through Christ.

Jesus Christ will return personally and bodily to judge the world, consummate His Kingdom, and bring eternal reward to the redeemed and eternal judgment to those who reject Him.

This Statement of Faith reflects the historic evangelical Christian faith and serves as the theological foundation for ICOHS College’s mission, institutional objectives, academic programs, policies, governance, and community life. It informs all institutional decision-making and guides the spiritual, academic, and professional formation of students, faculty, and staff.

Located in San Diego, near Balboa Park, ICOHS College campus is just blocks from San Diego Bay. With every mode of transportation nearby, ICOHS College is easily accessible. From our friendly staff to our beautifully designed space, ICOHS College provides students with the resources to succeed.

I was referred by a friend in an IT program at ICOHS so I scheduled a tour. After experiencing how personalized my tour was and how much admissions cared about my experience, I knew this program was right for me.

I was a little overwhelmed at first because it felt like a lot of new things to learn, but my instructor Hayder helped me take it one step at a time. With effort and practice, it turned out to be much easier than I thought. You don’t need to learn everything at once.

Before I even finished my program, I was able to start working in the IT field at uBreakiFix. My experience at ICOHS definitely helped me get started in the field, and really helped me with diagnosing problems and decision making.

We graduated ICOHS in 2021 and have been working full-time at Thai Sport Bodyworks and part-time at Peaceful Warrior Acupuncture since then. We specialize in Thai and Deep Tissue massage, but we love to mix in other modalities to truly tailor each massage to the individual. Getting to know so many different clients while continuing to refine our skills has been so rewarding.

I started at ICOHS to learn more about computer hardware installation but learned so much more. Getting hands on experience working as a team to install networks was incredible. I was able to quit my job working fast food and get my foot in the door at an IT job in my area all while in the program.

After I graduated, I applied for an alumni contractor role in the IT department at ICOHS College and began building my resume. I now have a part time IT job here at the school while preparing to finish my CompTIA certifications.

If I could share one piece of advice, it would be that it’s never too late to start training for a career in IT. I shared a cohort with students of all ages, and we were able to get certified and begin working in the field. If you want to get into IT, the time to start is now. Follow your dream.

After graduating from ICOHS College, I moved back to Puerto Rico, where I’m originally from. I didn’t know what to expect from being a massage therapist and running my business in Puerto Rico. In California, most people are mindful of the importance of self-care, but in other parts of the world, not so much.

If the pandemic brought something positive, I think it reminded people of the importance of good health. That helped me here in Puerto Rico. I’m providing my service as a massage therapist, working for myself, doing home massage, and sometimes even corporate, giving people the time to relax in the comfort of their homes or work. I’m hoping to expand my business, incorporating food into the equation using my background as a professional chef.

I want to provide a broader spectrum in the self-care and self-healing department. Reaching as many people as I can so we can make the world a better place, one healthier person at a time.
